2014 senior syndicate speeches

Aria, James, Neil and Ashin all stood up and said their speech in front of the class this term. Here is Neil's speech, full of jokes!

Hey, James, can you please stand up?
Can you guess what my speech is about?

That's right - it's not easy being me. I am going to tell you why.

Being a twin AND cleaning the house AND leaning English is not easy.

It is not easy because we get the same present for our birthday, same shoes, same clothes.
People also call us the same name, maybe because we have the same face and maybe the same colour of skin and hair.
How would you feel if you get into trouble for something that your twin did, and that's why it is hard being a twin.

The next one I would like to talk about is cleaning the house.
Cleaning the house is really hard because I have to clean birds' poo and their cage. It takes 10 minutes to clean the cage.
And I hate cleaning my room! I have to pick up my toys, my clothes and make my bed, and also have to clean the disgusting smelly toilet. And I have to wash the dishes, and I wish I could play 'minecraft', not wash the dishes!!
I have to clean the shower and the lounge, it's really hard work!
I also have to clean the garage and the backyard. That's why it's not easy cleaning the house.

There is another thing that is hard being me. That is learning English.
Do you know how many words I have to learn?
Maybe a million!
People tell me things that I don't understand.
A ball to me is something to bounce. When I read about a girl going to a fancy dress ball - guess what? -  I thought she is going to play with a bouncy ball!

Now you can see why it is hard being me. I have a twin, I have to clean the house and learn English.
If this keeps happening I will pull my hair out and scream like a girl!!!
Thank you.

TRIP TO THE W.O.W MUSEUM

There were lots of different cars and dresses

this is one dress, we were not allowed to take some photos. I don't know why.

W.O.W means World Of Wearable art
this is another dress they are all pretty special!

This car looks pretty cool because on that car is the English flag on it.

There were also old cars and they look awesome.

This car is really rusty and I don't think that it can drive.

The modern cars are also awesome because they are inside large and this got a TV and stuff like that

MY HOLIDAY IN PAIHIA, by Ture

Paihia is great for a holiday!
In Pahia I saw dolphins swimming.
We stayed in a big house.
Paihia has a nice beach with interesting shells.
I drove the boat to Russell!
We saw inside a Maori meeting house, and we watched a haka.

Emma's Holidays

"Hallo i'm Emma again,
now I will tell you about my Holidays in Hobbiton.
We drove in a bus to the houses built for the Hobbits.
There were lots of big houses in the grass. They looked funny!
There was a man-made tree with leaves that had been painted by school children. When they were finished Peter Jackson said"They are not the right color!"
So, the children had to paint 2000 more leaves.
There was one house that we could go into and it was fascinating because the furniture was huge!
I would recommend going to Hobbiton because it is very cool if you see the movie and then go to the set."
